About me
About me
My creative journey didn’t start with 3D printers, but with a camera.
Between 2007 and 2021, photography was my great passion – with exhibitions, publications, and a few unforgettable moments along the way:
2013: Goldmedaille Al Thani Award for Photography.
2014: Bericht in der Rhein Zeitung
2015: FIAP Goldmedaille und 1. Platz, digitale Fotos Al Thani Award for Photography.
2016: Bericht im Leica Camera Blog
2018: Contemporary Kunst Ausstellung, Qatar Museum in St. Petersburg, Russland: QATAR CONTEMPORARY: ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY
These experiences shaped my sense of design, form, and precision – values that today flow into every one of my 3D printing projects.
From Creative Experiment to Independent Label
My first 3D printing projects grew from a simple idea:
I wanted to integrate my Korg SQ-1 into an Eurorack system – but the available mounting frames were either too expensive or permanently sold out.
So I designed my own, and in the process discovered a new passion.
Shortly after, I created my first case for the Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator, which remains one of my most popular designs to this day.
From this enthusiasm, spm3x was born – a label for custom 3D prints, laser engravings, and accessories for synthesizers, campers, and coffee lovers.
Today – Precision, Passion & Sustainability
Every product is personally designed, manufactured, and inspected by me – crafted with attention to detail and the goal of combining functional design with lasting quality.
I deliberately avoid unnecessary packaging and advertising to conserve resources and focus on what truly matters:
good ideas, clean execution, and satisfied customers.
3D printing, shop management, and shipping mostly happen in my spare time – evenings and weekends – by hand, piece by piece.
Knowing that my creations are now used in camper vans, studios, and workshops all over the world makes me proud and drives me to keep creating new ideas.
